We've Moved!

Not us physically (again)... but the blog.

Here is a copy of the email that I sent out to everyone. If you didn't get an email, sorry... I made sure everyone on facebook, myspace, and email got the new link.

I never could have imagined it would turn out this way. The Rawlings Family Blog has come to an end.
Why you ask?
Because I ran out of free storage space! After two days of wondering why photos were not uploading I finally figured out that I wore out my welcome, rambled, and pictured myself right of of http://therawlings4.blogspot.com
Never fear, the 2nd chapter of blogging has begun... please bookmark http://house-of-rawlings.blogspot.com/ this as our new blog (but save the old one for archives (as it was a great year plus!)
Happy Reading!

Bubble World

Right now, I need to crawl into a bubble... immerse myself in this blog... and pretend that the past two weeks just didn't happen. 99.9% of this /what I now call/ Mommy-Blog is happy go lucky... Life is wonderful... Our family is amazing... I'm lucky lucky lucky. Maybe even at times its sickening sweet.

Are our lives perfect... can I get a (well this is family friendly) so... Heck No! Are we struggling with what to do with Shawn's new found "back talking/I know everything/the world is mine/I don't need to listen to you because I'm three" attitude. Yea, its a challenge. Do we raise our eyebrows as our red headed tantrum throwing one year old bashes his head off of the floor in his fits over apparently nothing? Um, yea... it's weird! Do Jon and I squabble over the littlest nit-picky stuff sometimes... like who left crumbs on the counter... or spent too much money this week? We are human, right?

So why did I need this blog bubble when I just spewed out some "quirks" of ours? Because the reason I choose to make 99.9% of this blog "La De Da Happy Pants" is because we are fortunate... we are blessed... and we have an amazing thing going here. In the past two weeks we have seen more of the world outside of this bubble that we are apparently living in then we ever cared to know about. I'm not going to bore anyone reading this with details... but just know... that we know... there are some pretty scary and messed up situations out there.

Back to bubble world... where its comfortable, happy, and relatively stress-free.

Pumpkins

This afternoon Shawn came up to me with a crayon stripped of its paper. "It's The Wrapper Free 3000!" This kid cracks me up... to no end!

Tonight was our annual Family Pumpkin Carve/Color. It was rather strange to think its been a whole year since Landon was sitting in the bumbo watching us go to town sloshing goo around. Shawn's face was nearly drenched in black marker... along with his hands and cloths. (Thank you to the makers of WASHABLE markers!) Tonight's carve consisted of Landon being an amazing helper of "goo digging" and floor sweeping... Shawn spelling words as decoration on his pumpkin... and I carved my 1st pumpkin all by myself. It hadn't dawned on me until tonight that I either am taking the pictures, or letting Jon do the carving because he does it better.
