Ready or not...

Whoever said "The Terrible Twos" never made it to Three... that's all I have to say on that one.

Shawn has been naughtier than ever the past few days... and today took the cake. I met my Mom for lunch at "Wed Wobster" (Shawn's term) and then we took the kiddos to Toys R Us and the mall. Shawn threw his biggest fit to date in the middle of the mall. Yes, the throwing down on the ground screaming kind. Part of the way home he continues on with his fit until I spot a bug on the outside of my window and point it out to Shawn. Then he proceeds to tell the bug that he wants to play Hide & Seek. "1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10... Ready or not, here I come." When he realized that the bug gone from the side of the car another fit was in the works. Poor little guy did finally tucker himself out and nodded off only to have Mommy waken him when we got home. Then all of the previous "bug drama" resurfaces. All of this coming from my normally angelic toddler.

3rd times the charm... this year he LOVES the Easter bunny!
Today at the mall after meeting with the Easter bunny for the 2nd time this year he goes up to this older lady sitting on a bench "The Easter Bunny! Oh no, not the Easter Bunny!" I think the lady got a bit of a kick out that one :)

Tonight Landon got into Shawn's coloring books and I asked Shawn to pick them up so Landon wouldn't eat them. Here is how that conversation went:
"Listen to Shawn. Do you understand? Be good to Shawn!"

This past weekend my grandparents (paternal) celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. I had the pleasure of photographing the occasion. What a beautiful thing watching two people so in love after all that time. Happy 50th Grama and Grampa Brown!

Mechanical

Having two kiddos so close in age has some pretty neat advantages. There are all the cute matching outfits (which has the negative of buying two!) The fact that you never really left the baby stage with one when you have the next is great. And then there's transportation... double strollers. Hauling two in the same unit is wonderful. However, the regular double strollers are not so wonderful for getting out and active. A double jogging stroller was a must to kick off the spring season.

This new "toy" that needed assembled gave way to a beautiful opportunity for a father & son project. Watching them put this contraption together was priceless. Shawn is one lucky little guy to have such a patient and "eager to teach" father.
