Bluesy & Pinkie

Our favorite matchin' babes at it again. The cutest... the pinkest... and the bluest!

If you look close you can see Landon's 2 bottom teeth :)

Protective of his girl.

He's so excited to see her!

Landon the move maker... Leaning in for another smooch.

"Here's lookin' at you... Kid."

Yo!

"Trust me Delilah, this thumb is a mighty yummy treat."

"They have us matching in stripes now. What's next? Polka dots?!"

Floor time

Daddies & Babes

Look at those two look a a-likes! Delilah and her Daddy making the same face.

"Get that mean ol' TJ Bearytales away from me now!"

"You've really gotta hold on me"

It has been nearly 8 months since the birth of our second son, Landon. In that time Shawn has adapted rather well to sharing the spotlight that was solely his for two years. Kindness, compassion, sharing, and love have never been in shortage from Big Brother to Little One.

However, over the past 8 months there has been one thing that Shawn continually refused to do... hold his baby brother.

Today that changed! It all started when I was sitting on the floor holding Landon up in a standing position to let him walk around with help. I tried getting Shawn in on the action by showing him how to help out. When I saw how willing he was to do this it clicked that this might be my chance to get him to finally hold Landon. Low and behold, it worked! Shawn not only held his baby brother, but also smiled in amusement!

A very happy moment!

The Coconut Chef

Did I mention that my kiddos are hilarious? I think I did, right?

Tonight Shawn was on the phone talking to his GiGi & Poppy (Jon's parents) while at the same time whipping up something delicious on the couch. Yes, he had his purple frying pan in one hand and the phone in the other. The pan was wobbling back and forth on the cushion next to me as Shawn was saying "Frying up Coconuts! Frying up Coconuts!" I chuckled to myself, thinking "Oh, that was something Jon must have taught him." Usually weird sayings come from Daddy anyways. Shawn then took the frying pan into the play room and continued chatting with his grandparents. A few seconds later he marched back into the living room and with a proud little grin he stated "Comin' right up!" This time, I laughed out loud.... but again, chalked it up to something Daddy Dearest taught him.

Fast forward to about an hour ago. Jon sits down at the computer and I say to him "So, whats with frying up coconuts." The strangest expression came across his face. "Huh?" So I told him the story.

Daddy Dearest did not teach Shawn how to fry up coconuts. He also did not teach him to correctly mock the slang of chefs everywhere.

Shawn somehow came up with this... all by his 2 year old hilarious self.

A few photos from Shawn's toddler cam... He's so proud of all of these!

The one of the feet (Landon's and mine)... yes, Shawn took that and thought it was the coolest thing ever!

Its a "Parent" Thing

Every parent out there thinks their kids are the funniest, smartest, and cutest in the universe. It is just part of being a parent. Knowing in your heart that your children are special and unique comes with the territory. It helps children develop positive self esteems to be the "twinkle" in their Mommy & Daddy's eyes.

Well, my kids are no exception to this. My kids are comedians. It was hard wired in at conception. They take the cake on goofy expressions and hilarious two year old sayings.

See for yourself... you'll know (not think) my kiddos are Laugh Out Loud funny too!

Mr. Mess with all his goop.

I said "Da" today and I'm proud of it!

Look at this neat trick I can do with a spoon! Ta Da!

It can go in this way...

And this way!

My two bottom toothums... now I just have to be careful with this thumb in my mouth or I'm liable to lop it off with these babies!

Its like learning to ride a bike... all in the coordination.

This dude deserves a high five for those awesome red locks!

These lines weren't made to be "stayed in"... they were meant to be crossed!

Time out in the snow... seriously Mom!

Ok people... this summer I had so much fun playing in this hose thing. Who killed my joy?

I'm promising to be super duper good for this hair cut (a lolly pop is waiting for me at the end) :)

Perfect little gentleman.

This is just so boring with out the screaming tantrums. Ahhhhh...

What? You WANT a screaming tantrum?

Ok! Here ya go!

Well, I was mostly good :)

Hair cuts = candy. What a concept.

Sunshine

Every night we have a routine for the boys. A little before 6pm I get Landon dressed for bed and make him up a bottle. Then we sit on the couch with Shawn and watch a few minutes of Noggin as Landon slurps down his nightly feeding. Before I take Landon to his crib I sing a special song to the boys... "You are my sunshine." It is a perfect way to end the day and let them know how much they light up my life. I hope they always remember it and when they hear the song they know how much I love them.

You are my sunshine
My only sunshine.
You make me happy
When skies are gray.
You'll never know, dear,
How much I love you.
Please don't take my sunshine away
