Everything from A to Z

Picture this:

Shawn and I were up laying on his bed for our nightly "Good Night" talks. *side note... we have these talks every night... sometimes they are stories, sometimes songs... last night shadow animals... you get the picture.*
Anyways... we were up laying on his bed talking about friends. Shawn was saying how Owen, Riley, Connor, Adam, and Lindsey were his friends. I said (thinking I knew the answer to this one) "Shawn, who is your best friend." I all but could hear the words "Owen" coming out... but they didn't. My beautiful boy was looking right in my eyes and he said "Mommy's my best friend!" ***insert tears, sighs, and awwww's here please*

I know, I know, I give enough sappy mommyblog moments to choke a horse. But ya know what, I LOVE being a Mom. I love everything about Motherhood. The good, bad, ugly, messy, poopy, spitty, smiley, huggie, pampers, luvs, similac, soy milk, teething, shots, tantrums, snow angels, books, toys, kisses, patty cakes, burps, farts, screaming, whining, moaning, biting, hitting, licking, sharing, snuggling, drooling, car seats, bouncers, pacing, dancing, singing... the EVERYTHING.

Ok, enough sap... on to the photos of the two that I was just speaking so fondly of :)

Fifteen

Shawn may favor his Mommy with many mannerisms and behaviors, but Landon takes the cake (literally) with favoring his father's eating habits! This child packs it away like an adult! We all know his Daddy has a hollow leg when it comes to food. In an ideal world Jon would weigh upwards of 500lbs. Thankfully, it appears that our little Red has his Dad's metabolism!

Today was my sweet pea's 15 month (yes, I said FIFTEEN MONTH... how can he be that old already!) well child check up. Everything went great! He's right on track with everything... and even a bit ahead with using an adult fork so well (must tie into that whole eating like a pig thing huh?)

15 month stats for Landon:

Weight: 22lbs 11ozs 21st percentile (he's a peanut!!)
Height: 31.5 inches 56th percentile

After our wonderful pediatrician (I love her!) checked him out the mean ol' wicked witch of the west came in to give him his shots :( This lady has been stickin' my boys since Shawn was a wee one. She really is a sweet woman and Shawn unfortunately (with that amazing memory) has disliked her since 9 months of age. Landon on the other hand likes her... until the stick... then likes her again. I was so proud of my babe today... he did not shed one tear for the 1st shot! However, the 2nd one (chicken pox) brought on the water works. The nurse said that one does sting more than the others.

Last night Nan & Peeps came over for their weekly visit. They must like this house/town better too because Peeps never visited us much back across the river ;) Or maybe its because he misses his great grandsons ;)

Stink & Monk

The past few days have been crazy busy in the Rawlings household. Part of this week we watched our neighbors granddaughter, Hailey (who is Landon's age)... she was a doll and made me even more convinced that I want a third child someday.

I did manage to make some time for a quickie photo shoot with the kiddos this week. I haven't felt inspired like I want to lately and I needed to get out there and just watch my kids be kids. The results, I'm happy to say, I was rather pleased with. Especially Shawn's shoot. Now that he's a bit older he's also a bit easier to follow around. Landon I still have to worry about falling, eating things he's not supposed to, and crying for me to pick him up.

Two nights this week Lauri (Hailey's mom) took the kiddos for chinese. I can't say it enough... Landon LOVES it there. That kid downed TWO full plates tonight!!! Granted, there was quite a mess on the floor, but still, he ate more than I did! The little monster babe decided to rub mac n cheese all over in his hair. With a goofy grin on his face he smeared it all around. What a messy boy!

Today the kiddos and I took a stroll around the mall (I needed some new scents for my scentsy warmer) and then headed over to Aunt Lizzy and Uncle John's. As always, it was wonderful to see them, as we missed them so much. On the way over there, as we were entering their town, Shawn started getting rather worried. He sits in the back saying "We're going back to the Fburg house. I LIKE my Fburg house!"

We all love it here... so much. The town, the house, our amazing neighbors... and a certain peace we feel that we have made it somewhere... stepping closer to our dreams. We have made some great new friends here... and all of us say it to one another quite frequently... we love it here!

Mmm... chompy chompin' at the watermelon.

This here stuffs good, Ma!
