A Number 2 Story

Monday morning as Jon and I were getting the kiddos ready for the BBQ Shawn pulled another one of his... I'll call them Shawnisms. Landon was being dressed on the floor and Shawn comes running into the room announcing "I'm such a cute boy!" Jon and I laughed "Yes Shawn, you are!" A few seconds later he repeats the cutesy antic. I decided to investigate what was causing Shawn to think of himself as (the very truthful statement) "I'm such a cute boy." So I followed my little stinker back to our bedroom to find... ugh... this is almost embarrassing...

To find Shawn smearing a stick of deodorant all over his face!

"Mommy, I'm a cute boy!" he states yet another time.

"Yes Shawn, you certainly are. Now give that back!"

**Ok, this little story is not for the squeamish. We all know this is a family friendly blog. Hey, we have two very little kiddos... puke, pee, poop, snot... its all par for the course. This story is too Proud Mommy Moment not to post! We all know that Shawn has been doing pretty well with PPOTP (pee pee on the potty)... not that he's trained, but he'll at least go and ask to go on it. The Number 2 version of the potty brigade has yet to happen... until now! Tonight Shawn was in his usual "Pooping Corner" and I asked him (for the millionth time) "Shawn, do you want to poop on the potty!!!???" And a few "No, no no!"'s later I decided to take matters into my own hands and show him that he NEEDS to be using the potty for this particular function. I sat him on, and he keeps telling me he needs help to poop... so I do my best to demonstrate, make it exciting, etc. Well, the phone rang... so I rang to grab it... nearly stepping in...

A giant mound of poop! Mr. Shawn pooped a big one... on the way to the potty. It was Jon on the phone so I'm all excited about this Pooping Venture and Shawn managed to finish his business while Daddy was on the phone! This kiddo got a big ol' handful of M&M's for that one (and I promised him a toy that he saw in the new Fisher Price magazine today!) Shawn has now promised to tell me next time "A Number 2 Situation" arises. I am one proud MaMa!***

Covered in cute boys... Nanny enjoying this very much!

"Mommy, take a picture of this!"

How big is Landon? Soooooo big!

My Little Ham ;)

And My Little Toothy Monkey.

Mmmmmuahhhh!

"Mommy, take a picture of Shawn sleeping."

Mommy take a picture. Mommy take a picture. Mommy take a picture!
Yea, today he wants me to. But when the big birthday shoot rolls around he'll be running for the hills... just you watch.

Little Instigators.

I have to laugh at these two photos. The one on the left I see myself as a baby. The one on the right, I see Jon. Maybe its because he's happy on the left and grumpy on the right (ah ha ha ha!)

First, I find the bee bo (belly button.) Next, I find my thumb. Ah, the perfect meditating position.

Screamin' MiMi's

Ah, Memorial Day! A day for picnics, BBQ's, family, & friends. This year our family had the opportunity to spend the day with my Great Aunt Westy at her son Todd's house. Many of Shawn & Landon's relation were there to kick back, relax, and enjoy the warm rays of sun.

Shawn explaining the colors of fish to his cousin, Christopher.

Counting the number of fish that he wants (which was all 3 that were meant for him and his twin cousins.)

Speaking of twins... here they are... Lauren & Katie.

Sisterly Love.

These three have such a special bond! Westy is one amazing grandmother... She reminds me of how Nan is with Shawn & Landon.

The Magical Bubble Blowing Peeps!

My Handsome Dude.

Shawn and his twin cousins.

Landon & Nanny laughing at a very comical Shawn. Peeps decided to take him for a walk and Jon warned him to keep a close eye on our wandering toddler. A few minutes later Peeps comes back grumbling something... I look down and Shawn is covered in mud. Yea, he jumped in a mud puddle. Peeps was rather miffed that Shawn didn't listen to him so I told him that he can blame his daughter (Shawn's MeMe) for starting that puddle jumping habit. A rather annoyed Peeps said "Yea, that was smart." Boys will be boys ;)

Nanny was the only other person who was allowed to hold my mama's boy (per Landon's request.) If anyone else went for him, the lip and tears came out, and back to Mom he went.)

A special bond... Landon loves rubbing his forehead to Nan's... its the cutest thing!

Cheese Curls 'R Us!

Spending Memorial Day with family and friends... I couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. The boys enjoyed themselves immensely. One of the nice things about living in small town near your friends and family... creating memories like this nearly everyday.

I love how affectionate Jon is with our sons. He isn't afraid to be a softy and snuggle, cuddle, and smooch the boys (oh, and just about every time he picks them up.) Shawn & Landon are two very lucky little boys to have such a dedicated and loving father... and I am one lucky wife and mother to have him to share in this parenting journey.

The Cousins.

After the BBQ at Todd's we met Liz and John at a local pool only to find it closed. Then after a small trip across state lines (well not really, but it felt like it) to find a pool, they were all closed! So, we headed back to their house and Liz & I came up with the bright idea to go get one at Walmart. So we left the three kiddos with their Daddy's... trekked to Wally World... a pool, pump, and swim diapers later... we were set. John filled the pool with a small amount of water (enough for us to cool off and Shawn to splash in.) Believe it or not, we had a blast in this little backyard pool!!!

My Dolphin. He's just as obsessed with water as Mommy. Ya can't keep the kid out of it!

Now this munchkin doesn't share in the aquatic enthusiasm... he hasn't quite yet discovered those fins.

And neither has his girlfriend.... :-O

Thats ok, Shawn loves the pool enough for 5,000 kiddos!

"Its ok, Landon." What a comforting big brother!

Yea, he's not so sure of this pool business.

The Screamin' MiMi's! They were not having any of this!

Daddy will save me from the nasty pool... Daddy doesn't like pools much either.

After a stern talking to about splashing around the babies.

Comforting a very unhappy Princess.

Mommy will show you how fun the water can be :)

Hangin' on for dear life.

Kickin' off the season

The Rawlings Family and The Williams Family took their first trip to Reptile Land together (with much success!) After a little pleading with Uncle John the days events unfolded nicely. Shawn enjoyed every moment of all the creepy crawlies, giant turtles, and "alleygators." Landon was a tad more interested in thumb sucking than reptile viewing, but he enjoyed the beautiful warm day while being pushed in a comfy stroller. Delilah too enjoyed herself being surrounded by family and friends :)

The babes ready to roll.

The thing Shawn was most interested in seeing before we got there.

Emu's!

Chillin' & Relaxing

This very nasty alligator kept attacking the window where Delilah was peering in.

Shawn was fascinated by these frogs!

1st Reptile Experience

This little guy was very interested in Shawn! :-O

"I have the BEST Daddy!"

The Alleygators!!!!

Watching a bunch of little "Tuck's" cruising around. (Yea, we watch too much Wonder Pets.)

Like I said, this thumb was more interesting to Landon.

Snack time!

Aunt Lizzy giving Shawn a better view of the turtles.

Growling contest between Auntie Ashley and Delilah. Delilah won!

The Butterfly Exhibit

"I'm having fun. So much fun. So so much fun. Yea yea yea."

Gunkle John and Baby De-lay-a
For the past three years Lizzy's parents have graciously invited us into their home for a Memorial Day bbq. I must say, I REALLY look forward to this holiday. Spending the day with our best friends family... just hanging out and playing with the kiddos... is so fun. Liz has such an amazing family and we are never short on good times and good laughs too!

Grammy Mary calming fuss butt Landon down (he wanted his Mommy all day... go figure!)

Delilah and her Pappy Hans

Birthday's coming up... and this is on the "Want List" by both kiddos!

Kayla and Shawn making bubbles.

The Pick Up Game
(only he's not the one picking the stuff up, Mommy is... yea, not such a fun game for me.)

Showin' off those top toothums.

"Cheese!"

Sharing a frog with Delilah

"Grama" as Shawn called Lizzy's Grandma. He really enjoyed showing her his toys.

My snugly cuddly monkeykin.

We get asked quite often if Shawn ever slows down. The answer... no. He runs at the mouth and on foot... all day... every day... sometimes even in his sleep. He is a giant bundle of energy that constantly needs to be doing something. Funny how Aunt Lizzy makes fun of Mommy for the same thing... always being on the move ;)

Screechy!

The Guys & Gals

Soccer fun with Roger, Sharon, and Kayla
(Liz's brother, his girlfriend, and her daughter.)

Beautiful Mama... Beautiful Babe.

Splish splashing in the water.

Baby Delilah all tuckered out.

If big brother can vocalize all day long... so can I!

Monkey Man getting ready to get wet!

Yea, this kid is not the dolphin his brother was at this age. Water's not his best friend... yet.

Hose Time! Shawn certainly has the bestest Uncle John to keep him entertained (and nice & cool on a very hot and stick Memorial Day.)

Drinks all around! Then afterward Shawn decided to take a pee pee all over the deck!!!

We had a wonderful time Mary, Ron, Liz, and John. Thank you again so much for inviting us again this year. You always make us feel so welcome! This was the best day to kick off the summer season. I'm so excited for all the activities we have planned for the kiddos. There are a few zoo's in the state that we're checking out to visit with Aunt Lizzy & Uncle John. A possible 3 day beach vacation with Lindsey, Adam, & their 3 lil ones. Then the usual amusement parks, carnivals, and lounging by the pool (well, not so much lounging as chasing kiddos through the water lol.) And we can't forget lazy days at Nan & Peeps hanging out enjoying the great outdoors. Can you tell... I love summer!
