Monkey See. Monkey Do.

Monkey's are supposed to live in the zoo, right? Just checking. You'll see why later.

With Valentine's day rapidly approaching Shawn has decided to get into the "Spirit of Love." His method of choice: Sweet Talking.

The other night we sat down and painted together after Landon went to bed. This is our special time to work on crafts, play games, or watch a movie together. After we were finished painting Shawn looks at me with those beautiful baby blues and says "Thank you for painting with me, Mom." Awwwwww... seriously, my heart couldn't have melted any faster!

Today Liz and I decided to enjoy this little "Teaser" of spring and take the kiddos for lovely long walk. When we arrive back home (both pretty exhausted if I must say) Shawn says to me "Good job walking me!" Can I get another "Awwwwwww!"

Landon has this thing for shoes... especially crocks. I'm constantly redirecting him and telling him "No shoes, Landon!" Nan, whose foot wear specialty is crocks, is having the same problems with my little "ankle biter." hehe. After the 500th time of telling Landon "No" today Shawn gets down on the floor and looks his baby brother right in the face. "Those are Mommy's shoes Landon! No! No!" Landon thought this was rather amusing. A few short giggles later and Shawn wonders what else will tickle his little brother's fancy. So back down to face level and Shawn is spouting off "Say MaMa, Landon. Say MaMa."

This whole getting closer the three years old and the vocabulary rapidly expanding deal is rather sweet, huh?

As for our walk. Yes, I took the ol' Canon with. But with good reason. This was Landon's 1st time in the big boy part of the stroller. He is still able to fit into his infant seat so there has been no need to put him in it yet. For the occasion of a warm winters walk, we thought it would be a nice time to try it out. Also, this was his 1st walk with his lovely lady, Delilah.

Our 1st walk together!

Pretty girl enjoying the sunshine.

This big boy part is pretty nifty!

My little munchkin loved the fresh air... and new view as well.

Shawn's favorite part: seeing the tiny patches of snow left and a few squirrels on the way.

Sleep Beauty.

Peek-A-Boo, guess whooooo :)

Mozart in the making. This seems to be one of his favorite toys at the moment.

Ah, bedtime. The day is coming to a close and Mommy is soon free to sit down, go through pictures, watch a little tv, and relax. Usually when bath time hits I bathe the boys separately. Its hard enough juggling them that way then to try bathing them together by myself. Don't get me wrong, Jon and I will bath them together when there are 4 arms and 4 sets of eyes on them. Tonight a stick of bravery was laid in my hands. Bath time became something of a jumbled comedy hour. Getting both of the kiddos in the tub and washed really wasn't much of a challenge. Ha, but getting them out and dried off, that was a sight to see. Landon was the first out of the sudsy water. I sat him down on a towel beside me so I could rinse Shawn off. No sooner than his two hiney cheeks hit the towel, he was off crawling crab style toward the landing bare naked butt in the air. I grabbed Shawn quickly and threw a towel around him, lifted him over the gate into his room. The soaking wet kiddo took off full speed only to slide on the ground like a baseball player sliding into home plate. Darn wet floor! Landon is still crawling around naked (apparently having the time of his life.) I wrangled Landon up and got him dressed. Then grabbed Shawn, brought him to Landon's room and shut the door so I would have any escapees. Ok, so both kiddos are dressed at this point. I NEED my camera to take some kind of a picture to remind me what I just went through.

Matching Monkeys

Landon is off cruising around his room and I grab him to comb his hair. I look up and what do I see...

Monkey's belong at the zoo, right? Yea, I thought so.
Shawn decided it would be fun to relive his babyhood and give the crib a try again.
(See, my camera really is glued to my wrist!)

After pulling Shawn out of the crib, I look over and Landon is off in the other direction... My youngest monkey standing upright by himself. What is he looking for?......

A diaper! Monkey #2 took a tumble. No worries. He was right back up a few seconds later ;)
And to be perfectly honest, I enjoyed every moment of all this chaos. I'm one proud Monkey MaMa!

Thank you for inviting me out for a walk! It was nice to get out & even though Delilah was shut off from the walk due to the sun she had fun too :-)
