“Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.” -Maria Robinson
I came across this quote today when I was searching for Fall/Autumn sayings to use to a few shoots I have coming up. It popped out at me as it is something that Jon and I have chosen to live by. No matter what, as long as their is trying, hope, compassion, and forgiveness anything is possible. And as the quote says, You can't go back and start over, but you can start today to make tomorrow better.
Making tomorrow better for our children is something Jon and I strive everyday to accomplish. I hope years and years down the road we are as close, if not closer, than we are now... and that we keep the traditions that we are forming for generations...
***just a silly little hope of mine ;)
Ok, there was my "goo" for the evening... now for the REAL goo...
Shawn, after an hour long fit that consisted of screaming, bawling, fighting, tissues, and tantrums... decided that he HAD to poop... and his pants were out of the questions after the last talk we had... so the potty it must be. I hear a little voice speak out, sounding rather scared, "Oh, I did it!" I went in and there was my teary eyed little boy so proud of himself. He pooped on the potty all by himself. Now the real screams came as I jumped for joy... praising him to the ends of the earth... even Landon got in on the excitement by waving his hands and squealing for his big brother's accomplishment!
Even though I have a massive headache from this evenings meltdown... I feel a certain peace knowing that down there, in the sewer, is something my big boy decided to finally let go of on his own. Lets hope he keeps this up and then we'll have a fully potty trained 3 year old!

Chilly (but beautiful) day.

Yay for Shawn!! That's so fantastic he finally pooed on the potty :-D
I love that quote you found! Believe me your hope is not silly- all I want for Delilah is for her to have all the opportunities we might have not had. We'll definitely make sure she's encouraged to be who she wants to be.
Love the pics- as usual :-) Love the crafts you two made :-D
Great job Shawn!!! We are so proud of you. The quote was great. Cody and I are starting a life together so in a way it is a beginning for us. Because one day we will be engaged and then married and having kids. I dont want a girl because i dont want one person back in our lives or for Shawn and Landon to be overseen or lets say i have other kids and they are boys to be put to the side because we had a girl. WE cant not wait to see you all. We are going nuts. I always love seeing the pictures. YOu all look great.
