The last weeks of summer are bringing some sadness as our "hot season" fun comes to an end... yet we have all the joys of fall to look forward to... leaf piles, pumpkin picking, hayrides, foliage, and Halloween. Yesterday Jon and I took the boys for one last (well, we think one last, but at the rate Shawn is pleading to go back, we have to to do ONE more) trip to Knoebles. This had to be one of our funniest trips yet. Shawn and I went on just about everything him and I could go on together... plus all the kiddet rides he went on solo. Yes, my head was spinning in all sorts of directions... and the headache from today proved it was too much "ridin' fun" for this mama... but the fun and laughter we all shared as a family is something we'll always remember and treasure. This precious time with our kiddos as "tiny tots" goes by all too quickly... and watching childhood through their eyes is an amazing gift from God.
After our amusement park adventure we met up with Aunt "Gizzy", Uncle John, and Baby Delilah at Hoss's for a nice family dinner. Delilah had her 1st taste of cottage cheese there and oh what a time NOT to have my camera... uh, the faces she made... and the gagging, oh my gosh... PRICELESS. That was one first that was very amusing to witness. After dinner and the kiddos bedtime Liz came over to watch a movie (which we didnt end up watching anyways... something better... girl time chit chat!) A huge topic of discussion was Halloween costumes for our little ones... ahhh the choices! I can promise an ULTRA cute Halloween shoot of the kiddos to come in October ;)

Puzzle Master did this all by himself!
After a "wishy washy" summer on the subject of Flume... he agreed to give it another shot... my little trooper said afterwards... "That was fun... but no not again!"
And 1st Bumper Cars... these weren't as big of a hit... getting the hang of them was a challenge (he wanted to spin in circles lol)
And we quickly graduated to the BIG Whipper! This was a blast! (and a later source of major head issues for mama)
He wasn't too sure of this... as the kiddo behind us (same age as Shawn) was bawling his head off... but after we exited the ride he did ask to go back on... Mommy said ask Daddy... Daddy refused all rides but the train for the day... so that was the end of the coaster ;)

The ride Shawn insists on going on everrrry time...
The Haunted House.
And after he exited... "I'm not scared. Shawn's not scared"... as he applauded himself nervously. Silly kiddo.
Today we headed over to Lindsey's house for a Mama/Kiddo play date. Kiddos (hers) are soon heading to school and our opportunities to get together will diminish some (we are both saddened by this greatly... sniffle sniffle.) So we're making the most of the end of summer. Unfortunately both my kiddos had some incidents today... Shawn, if you recall from the last time we were there, is allergic to their cat Bella... well even after Lindsey's great attempts to remove hair and dander (vacuuming, putting the cats away, etc.) Shawn was still irritated by the little fur ball ;) Thankfully, Lindsey had some Children's Benedryl, and that seemed to calm his itchy eyes (and make him a bit of a sleep loop today.) Then Landon's teething issues are coming to a head... he had a slight temp while there... but again, thankful for Auntie Lindsey... baby oragel and baby Tylenol to the rescue. Then later at Nan and Peeps house his poor gums started bleeding....
Uhhh... Teething Bites!

I'm so glad you all had a great time at Knoebel's! Bummed that both our families couldn't make it together this year.
Thanks for coming over yesterday! We had great fun, though I'm so sorry Shawn seems to be allergic to Bella. I think we'll need to keep the Benedryl on hand for your visits :-) And poor Landon- his gum was SO red! I hope he's feeling better. Love the pics, too-they are great! Can't wait to see you all tomorrow! Love ya!
We had such a nice time at Hoss's & of course I had a great time hanging out at the house later :-D
It looks like everyone had lots of fun at Knoebels! I can't wait until we can put Delilah on the kiddie rides :-D Well I can and I can't since that'll mean she's becoming more of a big girl :-(
