Home for the Holidays

Ever since I was a baby my grandparents beautiful house nestled away on 4 acres of woodland has been a place for me to call home. And now that I am raising children of my own it brings me great joy to watch their eyes light up when we pull into the driveway of Nan and Peeps house. They too look at this house as their home away from home. Shawn proves this fact every time he steps foot inside the festively decorated front door by making himself immediately comfortable. Off comes the coat... next the shoes... and right for the box of crayons out in the dining room. Pull up a chair... yell for Peeps to sit down... and a coloring we go!

This time of year I love being at Nan and Peeps house. There are always multiple trees decorated, beautiful wreaths hung outside, and snowman figurines scattered here and there. New to the decor list is "Shawn's Town" which Peeps made last year as a "pre" Christmas present.

We had a fun filled day with a few firsts for Shawn. He tried his first bite of cottage cheese (and it just may be his last going by the expression on his face.) And a tried a true holiday favorite was added to the firsts book... Hot Chocolate!

The cutest matching walrus hat and mittens (another BIG Thank You to GiGi from all of us!)

She gets the biggest kick (and frustration) out of how much of a Mama's boy this little guy is :)

Falling just as in love with Peeps as Shawn did.

Peeps and "his boys" trying to take a nap.

How could this sweet face possibly ever have to sit in a time out chair??

And the cottage cheese face!

A fun game of football with Mom.

Warming up with his 1st cup of Hot Chocolate.

Family time by the tree before we head for home.

As mentioned before about "Shawn's Town"... Here are a few pictures from yesterday of the Grand Opening 2008.
