Cherish

So... for those of you who read last nights "Poop Story" (if not, read the post below this one first) the tale continues. Because of the miracle that was "Poop" I promised Shawn this fisher price delivery truck that he picked out of a magazine. We stopped for a quick bite to eat at his favorite restaurant "The Pepper Tree" and as we were checking out Shawn was hugging me and snuggling... all of a sudden I screamed "Ahhhh"... the little stinker bit me!!!!!!

Now, this bite wasn't a malicious one... and as soon as it happened the tears formed and streamed down his face. My first reaction was to say "Shawn you don't do that. No truck now!" Well, this made the screaming louder. Shawn was ranting "I'm so sorry Mommy, I'm so sorry Mommy." I had no clue what to do. He has never bit like that before! So I got out to the van and got him strapped in (all the while lecturing him on not biting.) The point was driven home the moment it happened... this I know from the look on his face.

My dilemma now was... Do I get him the truck because of the wonderful job he did pooping on the potty... or do I not get it because of the biting? I grabbed the phone and called the first "Veteran Mommy" I could think of... Lindsey. At first she was stumped. It certainly was a tough question. After some talking and thought on the matter... her advice... get the truck for the reward, but make him wait for a period of time to get it as punishment for the bad behavior.

Hardcore potty training day 1.

This afternoon I sat Shawn down and told him that the diapers were going away during the day time and it was time to bring out the big boy unders. This didn't go over well at all. He begged, pleaded, and cried for his diaper back. We had a little chat about all of this and I got him excited for this new chapter in his life.

The verdict for day 1: A huge success. He PPOTP'd about 7 times on his own. Plus... there were no accidents at all!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so proud of my big boy!!! And truth be told, he's pretty proud too!!!

News from the home front on Lil' Red... He attempted his first step the other day! He was at the couch not paying attention and went to take a step and went down. Today he's been standing on his own a whole bunch. It wont be long now!

With the boy's birthdays fast approaching, I decided to take another long trip down memory lane. Ya know, there is a reason I take so many pictures... I love going through them all! Here is to family... now matter how close or far... the memories that are made will always be cherished. I know I missed a lot of people in these collages, but I only had so much time tonight. I'll be working on more later ;)

*sigh* :-) :-) What a great trip down memory lane. I cannot believe what a big boy Shawn has blossomed in to. And what a big boy Landon is blossoming in to. We are so lucky to a part of yours, Jon's & the boys' lives. I am so grateful too- even if I poke a lil fun sometimes- for all the pictures that you do take because it provides wonderful memories to relive again & again :-)
